Jacques Polge composed Coco Mademoiselle in 2001 as a lighter, younger counterpart to Coco. The citrus opening, driven by bergamot and orange, is brief by design; the patchouli heart was always his intention. The patchouli here is dry and rooty rather than sweet, which is why the fragrance has aged well across two decades.
Rose and jasmine in the middle layer add floral structure without obscuring the chypre base. Vetiver reinforces the green, earthy register the patchouli started.
