Sauvage, launched in 2015, is built around ambroxan, a synthetic material derived from ambergris with a clean, woody-musky, slightly salty character. At high doses, ambroxan creates the strong, far-projecting trail that defines Sauvage's performance. Bergamot and pepper provide the bright, sharp opening; Sichuan pepper adds a numbing, electric quality distinct from standard pepper.
