Indian Leather opens on cypriol, a dry woody-smoky material that establishes direction immediately. There is no citrus lift and no easing in; the composition starts where it intends to stay.
Rose and jasmine at the heart come as a surprise against that opening, and their sweetness is quickly absorbed into oud, patchouli and olibanum. Styrax adds resinous smoke, while vanilla bean is the only real concession to softness. The darkest of the Memo leathers, closer to an oud composition with leather facets than to a leather scent proper.
Autumn and winter, worn after dark. Formal occasions and cold weather let its resins carry the way they should.
Cypriol opens into rose and jasmine, with oud, patchouli, olibanum, vanilla bean and styrax forming a dark resinous base.
