Passionfruit

Passionfruit fragrance note icon

Passionfruit in perfumery is recreated through aroma molecules such as ethyl methylphenylglycidate, sulfur-bearing tropical fruit synthetics, and supporting blackcurrant or mango accords to capture the sharp-sweet-musky character of the fruit. The note rose with the early-2000s tropical-gourmand wave and has resurfaced through modern niche releases that pair it with white florals, salt, or vetiver for a beach-leaning summer profile. Tom Ford Soleil Blanc and several Atelier Cologne releases use passionfruit prominently. It pairs especially well with coconut, mango, jasmine sambac, and green tea for tropical-floral compositions. The note projects loud for the first hour then settles to a fruity-skin scent for another five to seven. Wears best in warm-weather conditions including UAE daytime.
