Aventus is a chypre-fruity with a structure that rewired masculine perfumery. The pineapple in the top is bright and tropical but not sweet; bergamot and blackcurrant provide tartness; apple adds crispness. Together the opening reads as sharp, clean fruit rather than candy.
Birch in the heart is the composition's defining element: birch tar in perfumery is smoky, leathery, and slightly medicinal, and it gives Aventus its distinctive campfire-meets-citrus character.
