    Aventus, released in 2010, is Creed's most influential modern composition: bergamot and lemon open onto pineapple, pink pepper and jasmine before smoky birch, patchouli and musk settle the base, for men.

    About Creed Aventus

    Aventus is a chypre-fruity with a structure that rewired masculine perfumery. Calabrian bergamot, Sicilian lemon and blackcurrant leaf provide tartness up top; pineapple and pink pepper follow in the heart, bright and tropical but not sweet. Together the opening reads as sharp, clean fruit rather than candy.

    Birch in the base is the composition's defining element: birch tar in perfumery is smoky, leathery, and slightly medicinal, and it gives Aventus its distinctive campfire-meets-citrus character. Jasmine adds floral depth without moving toward feminine territory. Patchouli and musk join the birch in the base for a dry, earthy, long-lasting trail. Many retailers list oakmoss and ambergris in the base; Creed's own page lists birch, patchouli and musk. Eight to ten hours on skin.
