Pineapple Perfumes & Fragrances

Natural pineapple is almost never used in perfumery because the fruit yields very little aromatic oil and loses character during extraction. Instead, perfumers build the note synthetically from molecules like allyl hexanoate, which gives the characteristic fruity rind effect, supported by aldehydes and esters that add juice and sparkle. Some modern compositions use a pineapple CO2 extract for added realism.

Pineapple is a top note with good persistence for a fruit. Perfumers use it to open fruity-woody compositions, to add brightness to musk and leather bases, and to lend tropical lift to modern masculine fragrance. It pairs naturally with blackcurrant, bergamot, patchouli and birch.

Pineapple performs best in spring, summer and warm weather, and suits both sporty daytime wear and statement evening signatures.
