Amalfi Lemon

Amalfi Lemon fragrance note icon

The Amalfi lemon, known locally as sfusato amalfitano, grows on the steep coastal terraces of the Amalfi peninsula in southern Italy under EU Protected Geographical Indication status. The fruit is larger, juicier, and lower in acidity than commodity lemon, and the essential oil cold-pressed from its peel carries a distinctively rounder, sweeter citrus profile than standard lemon oil. Italian perfumery has used Amalfi lemon for centuries; modern luxury compositions deploy it sparingly because of the high cost per kilogram. Memo Paris Jannat at Parfum Central uses Amalfi lemon as part of its bright Mediterranean opening.
