Xerjoff Explained: Every Collection, and Which Bottle Is Which
Where Xerjoff came from
Xerjoff perfume is Italian, from Turin, and the house is younger than most people assume. Sergio Momo and Dominique Salvo founded it in 2007. Momo came to it sideways: born in Turin in 1964, trained in art and design, worked as a painter and designer, then studied perfumery in Grasse in 2005.
The name is a nickname that stuck. His grandmother called him Joff, English colleagues turned that into Sir Joff, and the house took its name from there.
The first collection, 17/17 Stone Label, arrived in 2007 with semi-precious stone inlays and gold-plated caps. That set the register the house has kept since: costly raw materials, and bottles finished like objects rather than packaging.
The collections, decoded
This is where most people get lost, and it is worth being plain about why. Xerjoff does not run its collections as a quality ladder. They are themes. A bottle from one is not automatically better than a bottle from another, so the collection tells you what a fragrance is about, not what it is worth.
Casamorati 1888
Not a Xerjoff invention. Casamorati was a real perfume house founded in Bologna in 1888 and long defunct. Momo acquired it and revived the name in 2009, so this line reads as a deliberate look backward at classical Italian perfumery.
Oud Stars
The oud line, built from distillations sourced out of Laos, India and Borneo. Each release is organised around a place, and the oud character shifts with it.
Shooting Stars
Named after meteorites, and presented as limited. This is the collection people mean when they talk about Xerjoff as a collector house.
XJ 1861
Built around the 150th anniversary of Italian unification, which is what the 1861 refers to. Naxos, the most widely recognised Xerjoff of all, sits here.
V, also sold as Vibe
The line that carries Erba Pura and Accento. It was relaunched with a new finish, which is why you will see the same fragrances in two different bottle treatments.
Join The Club
The sportier, more casual end of the house. 40 Knots and Torino 21 both live here, and both are built for warm weather rather than for ceremony.
The UAE Exclusive collection
The newest, and the reason a lot of people end up on this page. Seven fragrances, one for each Emirate, numbered 1 through 7, released in December 2025 and sold only through the Xerjoff boutique in Dubai.
They use the house bottle shape with an embossed texture worked into the glass and a hand-painted brushstroke finish meant to read as moving desert sand. Xerjoff sells them either as a complete set of seven 50ml bottles in a presentation case, or individually as 100ml flacons. One is the red bottle. Seven is the black one.
Why two Xerjoffs can share a name
This trips up buyers constantly, so it is worth stating directly. Collections reuse names, and the same name can mean two different fragrances.
Torino and Torino 21 are not the same thing. Torino is a Shooting Stars release and reads rich and almost gourmand. Torino 21 is Join The Club and is a fresh, sharp, citrus-herbal thing. Buying one expecting the other will disappoint you.
Separately, some fragrances are sold under both a short name and a longer collection name. Naxos and XJ 1861 Naxos are the same fragrance. Mefisto and Casamorati Mefisto are the same fragrance. Those are naming variants, not different juice.

1. Xerjoff One Red Parfum
Xerjoff One opens green and aromatic. Bergamot and neroli lift a herbal core of basil and lavender, so the first impression reads crisp and cologne like while staying open to anyone.
The heart turns drier and spicier as pink pepper, coriander, wormwood and thyme add a bitter, resinous edge. Amber and patchouli settle underneath over oakmoss and musk, giving the fougere warmth and a lingering earthy trail.

2. Xerjoff Oud Stars Alexandria II
The Oud Stars collection represents Xerjoff's exploration of oud from different origins and contexts. Alexandria II opens on apple, cinnamon, and lavender: a brief, bright-spiced introduction before the composition deepens.
Rosewood, cedar, and lily of the valley in the heart provide a woody-floral transition. The base is where the composition lives: oud, amber, vanilla, sandalwood, and musk form a rich, layered oriental. The oud is warm and woody rather than medicinal.

3. Xerjoff Seven Black Flacon Parfum
Xerjoff Seven leads with a soft, creamy brightness. A little pink grapefruit zest sits against coconut and pear, giving a rounded fruity sweetness that feels smooth rather than sharp.
A quiet thread of incense runs through the heart with powdery orris and musky cashmeran, keeping the sweetness refined instead of loud. Madagascar vanilla, ambergris and Virginia cedarwood close it with warmth and a gentle woody depth.

4. Xerjoff 40 Knots
Released in 2012, 40 Knots takes its name from the speed rating of high-performance sailing craft. The opening reads mineral and saline rather than synthetic aquatic, closer to actual sea air than the ozonic accords common in 1990s marine fragrances.
Cedarwood in the heart provides structural backbone. The base of amber and woody notes gives the composition a warm landing that extends from the cool opening. Projection is moderate and sillage refined; this reads as a skin scent from arm's length.

How to choose
Start from the weather, not the price. Gulf heat amplifies everything, so the fresher Join The Club bottles behave better in daylight than the dense ones do.
If you want something you can wear to work through summer, Torino 21 is the sharper of the two and 40 Knots is the saltier, quieter one.
If you want the oud, Alexandria II is warm and woody rather than medicinal, which makes it an easier entry point than a lot of oud.
If the UAE bottles are the draw, the two split cleanly: One is dry, green and aromatic, Seven is soft, sweet and creamy. They are not variations on one idea.
