    Carlos Benaim composed Eau de Magnolia for Frédéric Malle as a technically complex interpretation of a classically simple note. The opening of lemon, grapefruit, and bergamot is clean and citrus-forward, providing a conventional fresh introduction before the composition's structure reveals itself.

    Magnolia sits in the heart, its citrus facets echoed by rose, while peach and apricot bring a welcoming sweetness. Oakmoss and patchouli in the base contrast with this summery impression and give the drydown a chypre character. Longevity is seven to nine hours.
