Egyptian Jasmine

Egyptian Jasmine fragrance note icon

Egyptian jasmine (Jasminum grandiflorum, grown along the Nile Delta) is one of the three reference jasmine terroirs in perfumery, alongside Indian Madurai jasmine and French Grasse. The Egyptian variant carries a slightly more indolic, animalic edge than the Grasse harvest, with a heady warmth that comes from the longer growing season under hotter sun. Modern compositions often blend Egyptian jasmine absolute with synthetic hedione to soften the indole edge. Initio Atomic Rose uses Egyptian jasmine as the floral core paired with rose and woody amber.
