I ordered a fragrance as a gift and it arrived in perfect condition. The whole process was simple, fast, and stress-free. Fantastic product and fantastic service.
Tobacco in perfume rarely smells like a lit cigarette. It reads sweet, honeyed and slightly smoky, like cured pipe tobacco or a leather pouch of loose leaf, with faint hay and dried-fruit undertones.

The raw material is the cured leaf of Nicotiana tabacum, solvent-extracted to produce tobacco absolute. Virginia tobacco (grown in the United States, Zimbabwe and Brazil) gives the sweeter, honeyed profile. Oriental and Turkish tobaccos yield spicier, more complex absolutes. Blond tobacco reads softer and hay-like, while dark tobacco is richer and more leathery. Absolutes are often supported by synthetic molecules that amplify the caramel-hay facet.
Tobacco is a base note and a comfort one. Perfumers use it in classic oriental-tobacco compositions (Tabac Blond, Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, Dior Tobacolor), to add warmth to leather and amber, and to give masculine fougeres a dry honeyed finish. It pairs beautifully with vanilla, honey, rose, oud and rum.
Tobacco performs best in autumn, winter and evening wear, and suits rich, grown-up signatures.
