Rum and ash rarely appear together in a fragrance: Amouage's Myths Man sets rum in a vetiver and rose heart, above an ash, leather and labdanum base, for men.

About Amouage Myths Man

Myths Man, released in 2016 as part of the Odyssey collection, opens with two materials that resist easy categorisation: chrysanthemum, which carries a slightly bitter, herbal quality distinct from sweet florals; and orris, the powdery iris root that adds a cool, woody-floral register. The opening is crisp, herbal, and powdery.

The heart carries the composition's drama: elemi, a resin with a fresh, slightly citrusy character, meets the boozy richness of rum; vetiver provides earthy-smoky structure; rose softens without sweetening. Together they create the dark, ceremonial character the name implies. Ash, leather and labdanum in the base provide the expected Amouage anchor of resinous warmth and dry, animalic depth, with ash adding a charred edge. Seven to nine hours on skin.
