    About Clive Christian Town and Country

    Town and Country was first created in 1925 by the Crown Perfumery Company and, as the house tells it, was famously worn by Winston Churchill. Clive Christian has reimagined it at a 25% perfume concentration, structured around the duality its name suggests: the countryside and London town. Clary sage opens it, herbaceous and slightly floral, the house's scent of the English countryside. Sandalwood forms the heart, adding the soft woody fullness that lifts the composition from cologne-light to something more substantial.

    Grey amber makes up the base, which the house calls a rare and precious ingredient with the warmth of a cosy fireside. The composition reads as a considered luxury interpretation of the English aromatic tradition rather than a novel direction. Seven to nine hours on skin.
