Silver Mountain Water was released in 1995 alongside Millesime Imperial as Creed's other direction in aquatic experimentation. While Millesime went toward sea salt and marine materials, Silver Mountain Water went toward metallically fresh materials. Green tea was an unusual choice in 1995; its slightly astringent, bitter-green quality had not been widely used as a dominant note in fine fragrance. Bergamot and mandarin provide the citrus brightness that frames the tea opening.
Blackcurrant adds tartness to the heart, sitting between fruit and green without being sweet. Petitgrain (the leaf of the bitter orange tree) adds a dry, slightly woody-green quality distinct from bergamot. Galbanum is a resinous material with a sharp, green-piney character that gives Silver Mountain Water its metallic freshness. Sandalwood and musk complete the base with creamy warmth.
