    About Frederic Malle En Passant EDP

    Olivia Giacobetti composed En Passant in 2000, among the first releases of Frédéric Malle's Editions de Parfums. The title means "in passing" in French, a reference to something fleeting and easily missed. The cucumber opening creates an airy, cool atmosphere: clean and slightly green, suggesting rain on foliage.

    Lilac opens alongside the cucumber and is the composition's defining achievement, with green notes in the heart recalling the flower's leaves and stems. A difficult note to reproduce with accuracy, Giacobetti's lilac accord reads as convincingly natural rather than synthetic. White musk in the base is soft and close to the skin; cedar adds structure. Longevity is six to eight hours.
