Outrageous EDP is one of the more linear fragrances in Frédéric Malle's Editions de Parfums catalog. The opening of lime, green apple, grapefruit, mint, and cinnamon is vibrant and multi-faceted: lime provides sharpness; green apple adds a slightly sweet freshness; cinnamon contributes dry spice that adds tension to the otherwise clean citrus-mint accord.

Neroli and orange blossom in the heart add a floral dimension that softens the sharp opening and carries the composition toward the warmer base. Aldehydes appear in the base alongside musk and amber, an unusual placement for aldehydes that gives the drydown a lifted, slightly soapy quality. Cedar adds structure.
