Davana

Davana fragrance note icon

Davana (Artemisia pallens) is a small flowering herb native to southern India, harvested by hand in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu before being steam-distilled into one of the most distinctive essential oils in perfumery. The oil carries a strange, almost wine-like sweetness that shifts on every wearer's skin chemistry: some perceive it as honey-tobacco, others as plum-and-vermouth, others as resinous-dry. This skin-adaptive character is what perfumers prize. Memo Paris Abu Dhabi uses davana alongside dates and oud as part of its oriental composition.
