About Frederic Malle Rose Tonnere EDP

Rose Tonnere ("thunderous rose") opens on rose, honey, wine lees, raspberry, pink pepper, coriander, and juniper. Wine lees, the sediment from wine fermentation, contribute a yeasty, slightly fermented quality that gives the opening an unusual depth. Honey adds sweetness; raspberry and juniper provide fruit and freshness. The combination is rich and complex from the first spray.

Turkish rose, geranium, and orris in the heart form a classical floral structure. Truffle is the extraordinary element: an earthy, intensely complex material that adds a deeply savory, almost mushroom-like quality to the rose heart. Violet and saffron add additional facets. Castoreum in the base provides an animalic depth alongside moss, patchouli, vetiver, sandalwood, cedar, and vanilla. The result is a rose fragrance of unusual intensity.
