    About Frederic Malle French Lover EDP

    Pierre Bourdon composed French Lover in 2007 as Frédéric Malle's study in dry, green aromatics, built around angelica. The opening of pimiento, angelica and juniper is sharply aromatic: angelica brings an earthy, slightly medicinal dimension while pimiento adds a spicy bite that keeps the greens from softening into freshness.

    Galbanum in the heart contributes a distinctive, almost bitter green note; cedar adds structural depth alongside orris, which contributes a faint powdery quality. Patchouli, vetiver and frankincense in the base anchor the composition with a dry, earthy, resinous finish. A fragrance that references classic fougère structure without becoming one, landing in the dry-aromatic territory between chypre and woody.
