Pierre Bourdon composed French Lover in 2001 as Frédéric Malle's study in dry, green aromatics. Pink pepper provides a bite that prevents the greens from softening into freshness.
Angelica in the heart brings an earthy, slightly medicinal dimension; cedar and incense add structural depth alongside orris, which contributes a faint powdery quality.
