Laotian Oud

Laotian oud sits between the Cambodian and Hindi profiles, with a slightly sweeter, more honeyed character than Cambodian and a cleaner less barnyard quality than Hindi. The Aquilaria crassna trees that produce Laotian agarwood grow in the mountainous interior of northern Laos, with smaller commercial yields than Cambodian or Thai sources. The result: Laotian oud distillates command a premium and remain rarer in Western luxury perfumery.
