Pear Perfumes & Fragrances

Pear smells juicy, honeyed and softly floral, the gentlest of the orchard fruits in perfumery. It reads less sharp than apple and less tropical than peach, with a clean water-fresh quality.

Natural pear extract does not exist in fine fragrance. The note is built synthetically from esters and lactones, with allyl cyclohexyl propionate giving the classic juicy pear-drop effect. Modern reconstructions layer multiple molecules to capture a specific variety (Williams, Nashi, Comice), ranging from crisp and green to soft and honeyed.

Pear is a top note and a friendly one. Perfumers use it to add juicy lift to floral compositions (Stella McCartney Stella, Nina Ricci Nina), to soften heavy gourmand bases, and to bring sparkle to musk and amber. It pairs beautifully with rose, freesia, white musk and sandalwood.

Pear performs best in spring, summer and transitional autumn weather, and suits transparent, feminine and unisex signatures across daywear and soft evening.
