Raspberry Perfumes & Fragrances

No commercial raspberry essential oil exists. The note is built synthetically from raspberry ketone (which gives the characteristic jammy effect), alpha- and beta-ionones (which bridge raspberry to violet and rose), and various fruity esters. Specific captive molecules from Givaudan, Firmenich and IFF allow perfumers to move between fresh garden raspberry, jammy cooked raspberry and floral-raspberry accord.

Raspberry is a top note with heart-level reach. Perfumers use it to bridge rose and fruit in modern florals (Prada La Femme, Lancome La Vie Est Belle), to sweeten chypres, and to give lift to musk and amber bases. It pairs beautifully with rose, peony, patchouli, vanilla and white musk.

Raspberry performs best in spring, summer and warm transitional weather, and suits feminine and unisex signatures from daywear to soft evening.
