Ralf Schwieger captured the lipstick accord precisely: iris, violet, and heliotrope together produce the powdery, waxy, slightly sweet quality associated with classic cosmetics. In Lipstick Rose, this accord is placed within a complex structure rather than isolated. The opening of raspberry, lychee, grapefruit, galbanum, and bergamot is bright and fruity-fresh, providing a modern contrast to the more classical heart that follows.
The heart assembles iris, violet, rose, heliotrope, lily of the valley, and cloves: powdery and floral, with cloves adding a dry spice edge that prevents the accord from becoming too soft. Vanilla, amber, and patchouli in the base provide warm, dark depth; cedar and vetiver add woody and earthy structure. The composition spans from contemporary fruity-fresh to deliberately retro powdery-floral within a single wearing. Longevity is eight to ten hours.
