Aromatic notes is the perfumery category that covers the family of green-herbal accords built on lavender, rosemary, sage, thyme, basil, and mint. The category descends from the classical fougere genre that started with Houbigant Fougere Royale (1882) and continued through Azzaro Pour Homme, Drakkar Noir, and many modern unisex compositions that lean into the herbaceous-clean character. Aromatic accords are mostly natural-led (lavender absolute, clary sage, rosemary essential oil) supported by coumarin and dihydromyrcenol for the modern Cool Water style.
