Taif Rose

Taif Rose fragrance note icon

Taif rose (Rosa damascena trigintipetala) is cultivated in the Al-Hada mountains around the Saudi city of Taif, at altitudes between 1,500 and 2,500 metres. The high-altitude terroir produces a distinctly perfumery rose: more concentrated, slightly drier, with a smokier honey-wax character than the same Rosa damascena grown in Bulgaria or Iran. Taif rose is one of the three reference rose terroirs in luxury perfumery (alongside Bulgarian Kazanlak and Iranian Kashan) and is rarely available outside Saudi-affiliated houses. Oman Luxury Mariya at Parfum Central centres Taif rose in its oriental composition.
