    About Frederic Malle Promise Eau de Parfum

    Promise Eau de Parfum opens on apple, pink pepper, and rosemary: the apple is fresh and slightly tart; pink pepper adds modern freshness; rosemary adds an herbal edge. Clove joins the two roses in the heart with a dry spice note that hints at the darker base to follow. The opening is brief and purposeful.

    Bulgarian rose and Turkish rose in the heart are structurally different: Bulgarian rose is classical and slightly cool; Turkish rose is richer and fruitier. Together they form a full, multi-faceted rose accord that sits on the dark base without sweetening it. Patchouli, cypriol, ambroxan, and labdanum in the base establish the composition's character: cypriol is a dry-smoky wood from India; labdanum is a warm, animalic resin from rockrose.
